Customers can now order food on WeChat powered by foodpanda

Taiwan, December 4, 2014: Online food delivery marketplace foodpanda is launching a partnership with WeChat across Southeast Asia, the fastest growing social communications app in the world. WeChat users will now be able to browse restaurants nearby, receive exclusive promotional offers and order food without even having to leave the WeChat-app. Users in seven Southeast Asian countries will benefit from this partnership including: Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, and India.

With a population of 600 million people, an expanding middle class and skyrocketing smartphone sales, Southeast Asia has become a prime market for the rise of social messaging apps such as WeChat, which have steadily grown into offering a wider range of offers than messaging. Companies like Easytaxi, to book taxis and Zalora, to shop clothes, also offer their services through the WeChat app.

WeChat powered by foodpanda allows customers an order process similar to the foodpanda website or app. Users enter their location and can immediately access a variety of restaurants and cuisines delivering to their area. In addition to that, foodpanda offers exclusive weekly deals specifically for WeChat users. The app collaboration allows for paying cash on delivery or via various integrated online payment options.

WeChat powered by foodpanda is making food ordering consistent and convenient, all integrated into the social communications app.

The partnership is now live in: Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, and India.
